At River Medical, we use the advanced Foto Finder device, which incorporates AI technology to ensure precise and accurate mapping of your moles. This helps in the early detection of any abnormalities, significantly improving the chances of successful treatment.
Your mole mapping journey begins with a consultation with one of our experienced healthcare professionals. During this session, we will discuss your medical history, any concerns you may have about your moles, and explain the mole mapping process in detail. This is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions and understand what to expect during the procedure.
During the mole mapping procedure, our nurse will use the Foto Finder device to take high-resolution images of your moles. The process is completely pain-free and takes about an hour. The images are stored in your file, providing a valuable baseline for future comparisons. This helps us monitor any changes in existing moles or the appearance of new ones.
Your Mole Mapping appointment is a straightforward, non-invasive procedure carried out by a trained and experienced practitioner using state-of-the-art imaging technology. There is no downtime or recovery period required, and you can return to your usual activities immediately after your appointment. The high-resolution images captured during your session are analysed by a consultant dermatologist, who will provide a detailed report. Our team will guide you through the process and ensure you fully understand your results. Should any follow-up or further investigation be needed, we will support and advise you every step of the way.
After your appointment, the nurse will review the images and highlight any moles that may require further assessment. A dermatologist will then examine these moles. If further investigation is needed, such as a biopsy, we will provide you with a referral letter for the procedure. Lesion biopsy and removal is something we are hoping to do ourselves in the near future. We strongly recommend scheduling annual mole checks to ensure any changes are promptly flagged for safe and efficient monitoring.
